4-Step Process of Placing Dental Implants
We follow a safe, predictable, patient-friendly process:
Step 1
Detailed Initial Examination & Consultation
The Doctor will evaluate your teeth, occlusion and analyse the available space. He will also visualise the available bone and soft tissue surrounding the missing tooth space. They may take X-Rays or do 3D Scans of your teeth.
Step 2
Placement of the Implant
This is usually a 30-minute to 1.5-hour-long appointment where the doctor will administer anaesthesia, making your teeth numb. Then he will create space for the implant in your bone and embed it. After successful implant placement, he will then suture your gums and advise medication. After 7 days of placement, the sutures will be removed.
Step 3
Healing and Integration
It takes 4-6 months for the implant to fully osseointegrate inside the bone. This is a natural process that doesn’t need any medications, supplementation or dentist visits. After the healing phase is complete, the dentist will call you for the second stage uncovery and connect a healing cap to the implant. It is here that the implant will finally be visible inside your mouth, like a small button.
Step 4
Attachment of Final Crowns & Prosthesis
After the second stage uncovery, the doctor will make impressions using an intraoral scanner, and will record your tooth shade. After a brief wait your caps (crowns) will be attached to the implants and the treatment will be complete after some final adjustments.
